Apache POI (formerly Apache Jakarta POI) is a pure Java file format reader and writer for Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio. The recent 3.0.1 release included a number of new features for Excel, and added PowerPoint and Visio support for the first time. The talk will re-cap the basics of using POI to read and write Excel file, then see how the new features allow you to do more, and make working with the low memory event api much easier. We'll also look at the Word, PowerPoint and Visio support.
